Student organizations play a critical role at Nova SBE contributing to a vibrant campus life while creating personalized university experiences. These organizations (clubs, associations) are constituted by students who move beyond their traditional role to boost the student involvement on campus which is often the catalyst for a positive student experience.
The Clubs emerged from the initiative of students, mobilized around a professional goal, a common interest or an innovative idea, building among them a community, a network and a life that goes beyond the walls of the classrooms.
Student organizations have a lot to offer to its members. If you think about joining a student organization, consider both your passions and the benefits you may get from it. If a given organization does something that you are passionate about, if it helps you building your network, developing your social skills, grow professionally, or simply to have fun and a break from your study.
Consult the Student Organizations List below to learn more about them individually (please note some of them may be exclusive for masters students):

Nova Dance Club was envisioned and created due to the love for dance and expertise of its co-founders combined with the need to fulfil and enrich the diversity offered by Nova SBE club’s portfolio. Nova Dance Club aims to provide recreational, physical and social activities to Nova SBE students in the form of dance classes, workshops, events and parties. Our goals also include the integration of new students, including ERASMUS and international students, the increase of bonding within students, the improvement of physical and mental health and the ability to better perform in school. In fact, we have conducted a survey for Nova SBE students and discovered that there is a lot of interest towards the initiatives we want to create.
As the club will evolve we believe that we could increase the style of dance offered whether by creating partnerships with dance academies or by discovering other students that share this passion for dance and can teach them. Keeping in mind that NovaSBE is, at its core, a business school, we believe that conferences about the management of dance academies, for instance, would fit perfectly what the faculty and Nova Dance Club have to offer.
The Nova Debate is where students of all the faculties of the NOVA University of Lisbon join to debate ideas. We promote the critical spirit and expression of ideas within the academy, with an average of two weekly debates and participation in national debate tournaments.
We also believe that the academy must exist in permanent dialogue with the society that surrounds it and, for that reason, we invite great contributors who are experts in several areas of knowledge to conferences and workshops organized on a regular basis.
In keeping with UNL's motto, "Omnis Civitas contra se divisa non stabit" ("every city divided against itself shall not stand”), we deepen the interdisciplinarity and critical thinking of our members through debate, sharing and training.

In addition, students acquire more information about the gaming industry - both national and international – by establishing contacts with major market players, companies and startups, and preparing workshops and conferences to provide students the opportunity to make a career in this industry. This last goal will be achieved by connecting and establishing long-term work partnerships between the club and Portuguese companies inserted in the gaming industry.
Finally, it will allow our members to get experience, to develop their marketing, financial and consultancy skills, and understand the common practices of the industry, such as core project management standards and key KPIs for performance measurement.

Our main goal is to push Nova’s community to not give up on their talents, but to cultivate them and keep on developing them. Through exhibitions of students’ works and young artists, contests, challenges, get-togethers, workshops and TED talks, we can give to the students the tools, means and short-term goals to grow their skills. On the other side, by creating a community directed to the arts theme, we provide the perfect opportunity to meet people with the same interests and different knowledge, which will allow an exchange of ideas and acquirements between the members themselves.
All-in-all we’re targeting everyone that has interest in any art, willingness to learn, to teach or to simply enjoy others work.

The ForTuna of Nova School of Business and Economics was founded in 1993 by two students, with the goal of fostering the academic spirit, contributing to the musical training and personal development of its elements and honoring the name of the School.
These musical groups (“tunas” in Portuguese) are part of the Portuguese universities' tradition.
ForTuna has about 40 elements, bringing together a wide range of musical instruments: guitars, mandolins, ukuleles, bass, tambourines, among others. It has a wide repertoire consisting mostly of originals but also including adapted songs. Representing our school in both events in Lisbon and in other localities, we favor conviviality and music.
Students play a key role in the governance of the program. Every year a Student Board is elected. They ensure that the interests of students regarding the various elements of student life are always under the radar of the program management team and the school.
This Ceremony usually takes place in January and counts with around 400 graduates that celebrate and also participate in it with entertainment performances.
